Leader of Opposition of the HP Assembly Jai Ram Thakur today claimed that the salaries and pensions of government employees and pensioners could be delayed considering the grim financial health of the state.
“From my sources, I have learnt that the government employees may get their salaries by September 5 and retired employees will get their pensions by September 10,” said Thakur. He said there was a possibility that these could be delayed by months. “This is the result of the poll guarantees made by the Congress. These have landed Himachal in a financial mess,” said Thakur.
The former CM said by December, Himachal Pradesh would be under a debt of Rs 1 lakh crore. “The CM keeps blaming the BJP regime for raising loans whereas the fact is that in our time we took Rs 19,600 crore in loan in five years while the Congress has taken Rs 24,176-crore loans within 20 months,” he said.
